Leonard Nimoy Dies at age 83

I don't really know what to say except that his role as Spock was one of the most iconic in the realm of science fiction.

The heroes of my childhood have started passing.  Is that how we know we're getting older?

Sad to see him go, He really is an icon.
I'm glad he did his cameo/small role in the last Star Trek. It's good to pay homage to those who came before.

We are assembled here today to pay final respects to our honored dead. And yet it should be noted that in the midst of our sorrow, this death takes place in the shadow of new life, the sunrise of a new world; a world that our beloved comrade gave his life to protect and nourish. He did not feel this sacrifice a vain or empty one, and we will not debate his profound wisdom at these proceedings. Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building,

write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone,

solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal,

fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.

Live long and prosper he did.

Fight them, sure.
Fight to win, always.
Just don't be dicks about it, as usual.

Sadness at a person's passing is the reflection of the impact they had in your life.

I will miss Leonard; but I will never forget him.

Games are fun because of who you play them with.
If you're not having fun you're doing it wrong.

The Canucks are now "Spocking their 5's" in his honor. It's a thing; you can google it. They've actually been doing that for a while, but Nimoy's passing has caused a resurgence of the phenomenon.

My father used to say that not playing to win is like sleeping with your sister. Sure she's a great piece of tail, with a blouse full of goodies, but... it's just illegal. Then you get into that whole inbred thing. Kids with no teeth who do nothing but play the banjo... eat apple sauce through a straw... pork farm animals.
